Doesn't SİS already have a Transcript Scenario?expand_more
It does, but it often does not work properly and is hard to use. This calculator was built as a solution you can use instead: upload your Curriculum Status or transcript and do grade scenarios, retakes, withdrawals and target GPA maths on one page; the separate Grade Calculator works out what you need in the final. Your official GPA is always the one in SİS.
Which grade counts for a retaken course?expand_more
The latest grade counts (Regulation Art. 29). A lower grade lowers your average too, which is why grades below your old one are dimmed in the retake section.
How do I get honor or high honor?expand_more
Students with a GPA and term average of at least 2.00, no failing grade in that term and at least three courses counted in the average are honor students with a term average of 3.00-3.49 and high honor students with 3.50-4.00 (Art. 31, within the maximum study period).
Should I upload the Curriculum Status or the transcript?expand_more
The Curriculum Status alone is enough: your grades, ECTS and the courses you have not taken yet. The transcript shows your full history term by term, including old grades of retaken courses. Upload both to get the best of each.
How does withdrawing from a course change my GPA?expand_more
The course gets a W; W is not counted in the average and earns no ECTS, and the course must be taken again. You can withdraw from at most 1 course per term and 4 during the programme, with advisor approval on the calendar dates. First two terms courses, retaken courses and withdrawals at the minimum load (3 courses) are not allowed (Art. 23). The "What if I withdraw?" section calculates the effect.
Which courses can I retake?expand_more
Courses with F, NA, U and W must be retaken. Courses with C+, C, C-, D+ and D can be retaken to raise them within the four terms after they were taken (only C-, D+, D on probation). B- and above cannot be raised.
When am I on probation?expand_more
If your GPA stays below 2.00 for two consecutive terms (Art. 33). On probation you can take at most 30 ECTS a term and must first take the courses you failed.
Is my data sent anywhere?expand_more
No. The file is read in your browser; your name, student number and ID number are not read, only courses and grades are stored on this device.
How is GPA calculated at AGU?expand_more
Each course's ECTS is multiplied by its grade point (A 4.00, A- 3.67, B+ 3.33 … F 0.00), the products are added and divided by the total ECTS. The weight is ECTS, not credits. Marks like S, EX and W are not counted, NA counts as 0.00.
What letter grade is my score?expand_more
90-100 A, 87-89 A-, 83-86 B+, 80-82 B, 77-79 B-, 73-76 C+, 70-72 C, 64-69 C-, 56-63 D+, 50-55 D, 0-49 F. Type your score in the grade picker and the letter is picked automatically. If your instructor grades differently, the grade in SİS is official.
How many ECTS can I take?expand_more
Normally 32 ECTS. With a GPA of 2.30 or above 38, with 2.70 or above 45 with advisor approval. Students on probation are limited to 30 ECTS.
